Cookie Policy

A short, plain explanation of what cookies and local storage we use, why, and how to change your mind.

1. What a cookie actually is

Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device so it can remember you between visits — for example, whether you have already accepted the cookie banner. thestacom.my also uses your browser's local storage, which works similarly but lives entirely in your browser.

2. The cookies we set ourselves

  • stacom.cookie.choice — a key we store in local storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies. Without it, the banner would reappear on every page.
  • PHP session cookie — created only while you are filling in a quote form. It stores a one-time security token to prevent cross-site request forgery. It is cleared when you close the browser.

3. Third-party cookies

If you accept all cookies, we may also use:

  • Google Fonts — to deliver the Manrope and Inter typefaces. Google may set a cookie on its own font domain when the request is made. We do not control or read it.
  • Google Maps — used on the contact page to embed the workshop map. The map iframe may set cookies on Google's domain.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, retargeting cookies or third-party analytics that profile users across other websites.

4. Changing your mind

Click the small cookie icon in the lower-left corner of any page to bring the banner back. You can also clear cookies and local storage from your browser settings. The site continues to work either way.

5. Cookie banner choices explained

Accept all stores your preference and allows Google Fonts and Google Maps. Reject non-essential stores your preference and avoids loading the Google Maps iframe automatically. The site never blocks essential cookies because they are needed for forms to work.

6. Updates

If we add or remove a cookie, this page is updated. Anything beyond a typo is announced on the home page.
